Since her debut on the pro beach volleyball scene in 2006, April Ross has cemented her role as a champion and one of the most universally loved players on tour. Lauded for her powerful serve, energy and competitive drive, April’s easygoing personality off the sand makes her one of today’s most authentic, engaging and accessible athletes.

California born and raised, April began her volleyball career indoors where she was a three-sport athlete at Newport Harbor High and Gatorade National Player of the Year. April then led USC to back-to-back NCAA Championships and was named a Honda Award Winner and Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2003. After time spent playing professionally indoors overseas, April swapped her sneakers for sand and was the AVP Rookie of the Year in 2006 and FIVB Rookie of the Year in 2007.

After nabbing several FIVB championships, including the 2009 FIVB World Championship, April and her then partner, Jennifer Kessy won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. April partnered with Kerri Walsh-Jennings for the 2016 Rio Olympics, sweeping every AVP tour stop en route to an inspiring Olympic Bronze. April then teamed up with Alix Klineman at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics winning the Gold Medal!

April is also a mom to her new baby boy!

Ed is the consummate volleyball professional, and his dedication to every level and aspect of the game is unmatched. He is the founder of Legendary Volleyball (previously VolleyOC), a company dedicated to providing top-tier volleyball instruction and the area’s largest, deepest, and most respected tournaments. Ed’s weekly volleyball classes have become a staple in the routine for thousands in Orange County, Ca. With a mindset devoted to hard work and bringing the best out of every athlete, along with a love for spreading the game of volleyball, Ed endeavors to enrich the lives of everyone around him.

Ed began playing in open gyms at around age 12, continued in high school, and helped UCLA win an NCAA indoor championship in 2000. After a year competing professionally indoors in Europe, Ed joined the AVP and has competed in nearly every AVP tournament since. After nearly 200 pro tournaments, Ed still isn’t finished – rather, his appreciation and enjoyment of every moment of every game are at an all-time high. “Just being able to compete against the high-caliber professionals of the AVP is a privilege,” Ed says. “Being able to call myself an AVP Champion after the 2018 San Francisco event put a cherry on top of a wonderful and successful career.” Outside of volleyball, Ed enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.

For a decade, I’ve been lucky to coach beach volleyball at Long Beach State University. Watching the sport explode, both in college and especially at the junior level, has been incredible. I’m stoked to be part of Legendary Volleyball! I’ve always wanted to work with younger players, and this is the perfect time.
